The country’s Zero-Emission Freight Corridor Strategy and federal clean port, truck, and freight programs will revolutionize how America moves goods across the country. Washington's freight industry is critical, moving over 600 million tonnes of goods and supporting 45% of all jobs in the state. Through the Clean Ports Program, Washington’s Port of Tacoma will invest $3 million to add 40 pollution-free electric trucks. The country’s Zero-Emission Freight Corridor Strategy will connect Washington’s freight system to a nationwide network of heavy-duty charging stations. Regional programs enhance the national corridor, investing more than $100 million in chargers along 2,500 miles of the I-5 from Washington to California.
